Meeting location: Wisconsin Ave North Side between Phillips Ave & 6th St

PARADE ATTIRE:
white ear muffs, gloves and scarf (purchased through the studio)
parade sweatshirt - get a bigger size so you can layer up

If you need to get anything, please keep in mind that orders from our store take around 2 weeks to ship.
Plan ahead: order your parade gear NOW so you don't have to worry about it! Is your sweatshirt not going to arrive in time? Wear a plain white sweatshirt instead!
MORE INFO:
The Parade assembles on Wisconsin Avenue between MLK Drive (3rd Street) and 6th
Street, and on North Vel R. Phillips Ave (4th Street) between Wisconsin Avenue and Clybourn
Avenue. The parade permit can close these areas to traffic beginning at 10:00 AM.
Due to the size of line up area and traffic limitations, motorized units should attempt to be in
place by 10:30 AM. Check with parade staff (wearing bright orange and yellow vests), who will help place your unit and give you any last-minute instructions.
DROP OFF:
Cars dropping off individuals should use Wells Street to the north, or Michigan Street to the south, of the lineup area. Parking for personal vehicles is available in The Avenue / 3rd Street Market Hall parking structure for $3 for the day (limited to garage entry from 8AM to 3PM).
STEP-OFF:
The Parade steps off at 12:00 Noon. Staff members will direct you forward to the
intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and MLK Drive (3rd Street) where the Parade begins. Any unit
not lined up when their unit number is called at the starting line will forfeit their right to
participate.
THE ROUTE:
From MLK Drive, the Parade marches east on Wisconsin Avenue, north on
Plankinton Avenue, west on Kilbourn Avenue, north on MLK Drive, east on Juneau Avenue, and
south on Water Street. Please note that the parade takes approximately an hour to an hour and a half to completely pass any given point, including the starting line.
END OF THE PARADE:
At the end of the parade, please follow the instructions of the parade
staff. Please do not stop to let participants exit your float/vehicle until you are safely parked
away from the parade route and moving traffic. You will be directed forward on N. Water Street,
alternating sides of the boulevard, and eastbound on E. Highland Avenue. Find an open curb
spot to disband and disassemble any floats. Buses and trucks will be parked in a lot at Water
street and Juneau Avenue, one block north of the end of the parade route. Once your unit is
disbanded, you may proceed on foot to the bus staging area, or the bus may come to the
intersection of Water Street and State Street to pick you up.
SHUTTLE SERVICE:
Once again this year, a shuttle school bus will be available between the
end of the parade route and the assembly area. It will pick up at the intersection of Water Street
and State Street (just south of the breakout area at the end of the parade) and will drop off on
West Michigan Street near The Avenue/3rd Street Market Hall, and also at the Post Parade
Party at the Irish Cultural & Heritage Center at 21st & Wisconsin. Check with parade volunteers
at the end of the route for details.
PARADE CONDUCT:
- The throwing of candy and other items from any parade unit is prohibited. For the crowd’s
safety, please give items out HAND-TO-HAND to spectators at the curb.
- For our 21+ participants, the presence and consumption of alcoholic beverages by any parade unit is not allowed!
